Message First off, my hat is off to Dean (DrDCanceu) who not only managed to best his prior 11.1s (3 of them) by getting into the 10s, but he did it with ease! Back to back low 10.8 runs at 128 and 129mph! And he did this with a 15-20mph headwind (we had meters to check conditions). And as mentioned by Z1Truth, after nearly 200 runs, Greg did indeed come back into the pits with the dreaded rod knock. Even so, he was all smiles after a few mid 10-second passes. He knew it had to go sometime and expect some bigger (and quicker) things to come down the road =)

As if he hadn't had enough, he convinced Dean to let him drive his car down the strip at the end of the night. By then the wind was gone and it was quite a bit colder. The great conditions lead to a blistering 10.6X @ 131mph in Dean's 2530-powered Z! And he did it with a worse 60' time than Dean had, so to your credit buddy, you could have done it yourself! You're becoming quite the driver with your 1.5X earlier and 10.8s!

About Mikey's record breaking run. It wasn't so much in the time but in the MPH. Ryan (degredated) actually hit some 120mph traps speeds on his stock turbos (which is amazing) only to be followed up by Mikey (WXY) with a blistering 121mph run! I have NEVER seen that kinds of mph on a stock turbo car without some other aids. That would be the record, would it not? Correct me if I'm wrong.

For those that didn't know, Seb brought out his Z (yep, he got it back!) and managed multiple low 11s at ~128-129mph. He was nailing the launch with 1.6s and the MPH was spectacular but the times just weren't where they could be. As I mentioned below, the car is a beast to drive on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts since the turbos like to come out of boost. You could see the nose dip down pretty good between the shifts. He has some ideas to combat that for the next trip on April 8th but I have to give him MAJOR credit because his first time out at 22psi and he's running low 11s on a relatively new (to him) setup...on a 5-speed to boot. Rome wasn't built in a day, bro! I'm confident you will hit a 10, with no nitrous!

What a night. The people I met today were great and a big thanks to all of you for coming out! Pics and a video or two coming tomorrow.

What a freakin' night!

If you think defending quality shops and site sponsors with proven records makes him a whore, then you are the ones with the problem. Stop being bitches. - October 21, 2003 at 06:16 PM
